It really helps because most likely your friends will be in the same city so hosting within the city makes more sense than going across the country. Switched to a locally hosted server (still near 24/7 runtime) and instantly did a “back to you” on a ghast and killed all of them without dying, my friend also said the ping was as if he was playing local. My friend got a realm and I basically told him screw this because it was too laggy to hit a ghast, I missed 15 times and died 3 times. Realms is garbage, they don’t want you to know this, but you can actually just download the server off their website, run it on a spare PC hooked to ethernet, setup NOIP to get a domain name automatically attached to your network, then login to your router and port forward for bedrock.
